How do we select the appropriate steel type for your sheet metal parts?

We mainly use three commercial stainless steel grades. 316 resists corrosion best and suits marine use. 304 fits most indoor and food-contact parts. 430 offers a low-cost, magnetic option.

  • 316: coastal, chemical and medical environments.
  • 304: general and food-contact applications.
  • 430: cost-sensitive, less corrosive environments.

All three grades can be welded and finished. Read our full stainless steel material guide for comparisons. Unsure which grade fits? Send your drawings for a material recommendation.
